Abstract
This research project is funded by Naturvårdsverket via their programme HÄMI (health related environmental monitoring). The project is lead by Gothenburg university and also have participants from VTI (research institute) and Soniqa (consultancy). The prject consists of a main project for creating a national noise map in Sweden, which started in 2023, and has several extension projects which add focus on schools, parks and nature reserves.
The noise map is created using the new noise prediction method Nord2000 (introduced formally in Sweden in 2025). Commercial software can be used to calculate noise levels in small areas (part of a city) but will not work for larger areas such as all of Sweden.
