Abstract
This project investigates long-horizon operation of battery energy storage systems using mixed-integer linear programming (MILP). The model is implemented in Python using the Gurobi solver and represents detailed operational constraints with high temporal resolution. The objective is to analyse battery participation in electricity markets and flexibility services over periods exceeding one year by performing repeated daily optimization runs and scenario analyses. The results will support method development and computational evaluation of long-term battery operation strategies.
