Abstract

In the EUPAHW project experimental infection of domestic chickens with infectious brochitis virus and the parasite Ascaridia galli have been carried out in collaboration between SVA and European partner institutes, and RNAseq has been performed on tissues of infected animals. Data analysis will reveal host gene expression responses and allow comparison to other host parameters (e.g. clinical, immunological). The produced data will increase our understanding of the infection process for key poultry pathogens and the incompletely explored chicken immune system as well as facilitate future vaccine development efforts.
