  Abstract
The main goal of this work is to investigate by experiment, computation and theory the major physical properties of shock wave implosion in various fluids. A new fully automated shock tube with rectangular section and fast opening valve will be used to study the non-equilibrium gas dynamics of strong shock convergence in gases. Development of corresponding numerical simulations will be used to confirm experimental findings towards more efficient energy concentration at the focal region. A new exploding wire configuration to be constructed to explore strong blast implosion on bubbles with various gas contents.
