Abstract

Tract-Based Spatial Statistics (TBSS) is used for voxelwise analysis of whole brain white matter diffusion MRI measures. All fractional anisotropy (FA) images are nonlinearly transformed into the space of the target FA image, e.g. the FMRIB58_FA standard-space. For each individual, local FA maxima are found along the perpendicular direction to the mean FA image and then projected onto the group template skeleton. Voxelwise analyses across the group of study participants are carried out for all voxels with FA ≥ 0.2 to exclude peripheral tracts where significant inter-subject variability and/or partial volume effects with grey matter exist. In this project, we will use the data from UCLA Consortium for Neuropsychiatric Phenomics LA5c Study and investigate the false positive rate from the default TBSS pipeline.
