Abstract

In this project the FLEXible PARTicle dispersion model (FLEXPART) will be set up and run. This will be done to evaluate which air masses that has affected aerosol particle measurements conducted within the Aerosol Research Group at Lund University. The airmass origin is crucial in source apportion measurements where we try to determine the sources of aerosol particles. Possible cites that will be used in the project is the Actris and ICOS measurement site Hyyltemossa (1 h north of Lund) where continuous measurements of aerosol properties take place. FLEXPART can also be used for sites where shorter measurement campaigns take place. FLEXPART is an advanced model that is highly suitable for this project. In this project I would like to set up FLEXPART on tetralith and run some tests to determine how many core hours that is required to run the model. If necessary I will then apply for a larger project if needed for more continuous runs with FLEXPART.
