The project is about brachytherapy, which is a modality of radiation therapy, used for cancer treatment. In brachytherapy the radiation is delivered from within the tumour. The aim with the treatment is to deliver a high enough dose to the tumour while sparing organs at risk.
We formulate the treatment planning problem as optimization problems and to verify our models we need to solve these models which typically are computationally demanding. Therefore we also need computational resources and the use of NSC would be helpful.
