Abstract
The research in the Atmospheric Science Unit at the Department for Environmental Science and Analytical Chemistry (ACES) is focused on atmospherically relevant chemistry and physics and in particular on aerosol-cloud interactions.
We use computational methods to investigate atmospherically relevant chemistry and physics and in particular on aerosol-cloud interactions and the consequences for global climate. At the Division of Atmospheric Science at the Department for Environmental Science and Analytical Chemistry (ACES) we cover expertise from molecular modelling using quantum chemical (QC) calculations and molecular dynamics (MD) simulations to large eddy simulations (LES) and global climate modelling (GCM). All these simulation techniques require high performance computing (HPC) resources. Short descriptions of our project plans motivate this application for HPC time and the estimate of the total amount of core hours (ch) requested.
