Abstract

The world needs clean and reliable energy, one future such energy source is Fusion energy. By holding a super hot plasma confined in a torus with strong magnetic fields, hydrogen will collide and fuse to create energy. The confinement of the plasma, which determines how effective future power plants will be, is govern by micro instabilities. Mathematical descriptions of these instabilities have made it possible to create advanced Gyro-Kinetic codes. Although heavy in computational power they give, today, the best description of the turbulent transport in the plasma. This project aims to study the turbulent transport in present fusion experiments and give predictions for future Fusion Experiments such as ITER and DEMO.
