Abstract

In this course given at the Department of Marine Sciences at the University of Gothenburg, we will explore the dynamics of ocean currents. Our goals are to understand how the ocean works, and to identify processes that are causing variability in the system. An important part of the course is that students will learn how to run an ocean general circulation model (MITgcm, http://mitgcm.org) on a super computer.
