Abstract

We are developing software (MrBayes and RevBayes) for Bayesian MCMC inference of problems in phylogenetics and evolutionary biology, and we are using this software for empirical analyses. We are also exploring new generic approaches to model specification (probabilistic programming) and new inference algorithms (SMC, PMCMC etc). The SNAC allocation we apply for here will be used for medium-size empirical analyses, and for large benchmark analyses needed to evaluate the performance of new and old algorithms for exploring phylogenetic tree space.
