Abstract

The field of frustrated magnetism has displayed a wealth of physical phenomena such as magnetic monopoles, exotic magnetic ground states and residual ground state entropy. The field advances through a close collaboration between analytic, numeric and experimental work. Particularly neutron scattering measurements are of great importance in determining the magnetic order in frustrated magnets. An important aim of this project it to develop large-scale Monte Carlo calculations of neutron spectra for the spin ice family of materials in order to determine the underlying microscopic models.
