Abstract

The project will investigate simulation methods to predict cavitation behaviour and its nuisance for hydraulic machinery, primarily ship propellers. Simulations are based on transient highly resolved LES or HRLES methods for the multiphase flow with an explicit mass transfer model for the phase transition mechanisms. FWH based acoustic prediction methods are use to predict radiated noise and erosion models are being developed and tested.
