Abstract

Since the discovery of iron-based superconductors in 2008, there has been an increasing interest in models of superconductivity with multiple superconducting components. These superconductors exhibit a wide range of interband interactions leading to highly complex energy landscapes. Field theories with frustration and complicated energy landscapes also arise in magnetic systems. These support a wide range of novel phase transitions and topological defects. This project aims to examine the thermodynamical properties of these systems and in particular identify phase diagrams and transitions.
